LOL, so true. even bell/dish with its thousands of channels doesnt compress (huffman) now/next epg, only the 9day eepg.

channel names? I know its an option in the spec, but I agree. why bother? ha

send me a dump of that ts and I'll look into it, if it is huffman I'll probably just skip that feature for now. Too man other features that are more pressing.

UDL,

Any interest in doing a tsid lookup? parse tsid, look it up against a tsid list, and present
tsid, the old ntsc ch, atsc ch, city and state/pr? Would quickly / positively identify where a received station is from.

here's a tsid.csv downloaded from rabbitears site. definitely more up to date than what's in tsreader.

For now Id like to focus just on parsing the stream, rather then lookup tables and make csv files etc.

I can pull the TSID out and display it though if thats of interest to you, right now I just skip over it

roger... Does sound like a fair amount of work for little gain.
I tossed it in to a mysql table.

Hi guys,

I developed a program that works with up to 4 ATSC tuners (tested it with 3, two USB and 1 PCIe).
It does a frequency scan using W_scan. Developed it using Qt.

It displays all services on the screen in real time using multiple instances of VLC.

Would like some constructive critic.

As of now I am working on a version for DVB-S(2) and found out some interesting things on 125 W the PBS satellite.

If interested let me know how you want the Qt files. You'll have to compile it. I think I can tarball or zip them.

Thanks for your time.

The guys here got me hooked on https://bitbucket.org

You can use Git or Mercurial. I use mercurial for the sole fact that the guys here explained to me in layman's terms how to use it. Its incredibly simple. So simple you will wonder why you havent used it your entire life.

Everyone here has been very helpful in turning my time tuning application into what it is today. Thats the power of open source !

How do you save an ATSC scan so that you can recall it and click on the spikes of interest?

ya I havent implemented that yet. Its something Ive been meaning todo but havent got around to it, other stuff just keeps coming up. Right now Im really just trying to focus on getting the parsing correct, DVB, ATSC, DGII, etc etc all do things slightly different.

OK, I loaded "tttuner" to bitbucket.org.

Hope I got everything there.

1) You need QT to compile it.

It needs w_scan to find the the channels I never tried it on
cable (they are the competition).

I use VLC 2.0.5 to Create Streams, Show Videos and TuneTo.

Check the radio button of choice and then push Tune.

Service Scan first to find your Channels.

One draw back is that any DVB device is detected as a tuner, I believe W_scan will find
the best tuner to scan with; but you need to know which ones you have that are ATSC.
I built this program before I got into the satellite tuners.

Wish you the best and if you find I left something out please post it or email me at.
andylaberge@linux.com

Thank you,

Ok,

I unchecked private and public forks.

it's https://bitbucket.org/andyinyakima/tttuner

This always happens when I join a new site

Make mistakes and learn.

Thanks for the heads up.

I go to your site and just walk in.

I also posted and invite for updatelee and majortom.
Did they go out?

Thanks
