I waited 10 minutes and another movie started "Thunderstruck" (2012)  w/Jim Belushi.
I've never heard of this one.
If you don't have tsreader in Windows.
This will play in Linux if you have a dvb card (like the prof7301) you will need S2-liplianin , wine, ipcleaner, dvbstream and Bluzee's clean_ts_dump and I think thats all.

BTW thanks Bluzee, nice program  and mips

Edit: I made a typo you need 'clean_ts_dump' not make_clean

I re-read my post above and fixed my little typo error in the list of Linux apps one might need.

Yes, IPCleaner.  It's posted in the sticky at the top of this sub forum.   There is a README in the zip file with instructions.  Works awesome.

dvbstream is just one option in linux. I initially used it to tee off the stream so multiple files could be saved at the same time. Since IPCleaner now does -sub=all that is not necessary any more.  It can read -infile=/dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0 so all you need to do is tune the card and start IPCleaner. It'll spit out files until it hits number 128.  You can tune with UDLs  apps or even just szap.

Rickp, Nothing new really in windows other than ipcleaner from the command prompt.
I don't know if you've tried it? It works pretty slick.
You record pid with tsreader, save it to a file. The recording will be a .mpg file.
Then run that .mpg file through ipcleaner and it separates the stream or streams into .ts files
that you can play with VLC.

Well shoot, I guess I couldn't get it to work with udl's app I'm doing it from the linux terminal like this "./clean_ts_dump 11942 800" and it spits them out to my desktop.
I'll keep playing with it.

thanks Guys
the file TSreader spits out is a .ip of course you can rename it .mpg
I am only saving the one pid 800.
I may need to be spoon feed the command to send to ipcleaner.

Hey rick, What I do in windows with tsreader is under record select "record pid" and if you notice the output filename there. I created a file on my desktop called "recordings" you can call your output file anything you want. And point the output wherever you want
So mine looks like this "C:\Documents and Settings\jim\Desktop\recordings\somemovie.mpg". Now I have a file there
called "somemovie.mpg". You probably already know all that.

I have ipcleaner.exe in the "recordings" file also.
So I open up a command prompt
C:\Documents and Settings\jim\Desktop\recordings>ipcleaner -infile=somemovie.mpg -pid=800 -sub=all  <press enter>

I'm not sure if you have to do "-sub=all" thats what I do, anyways if there should be some .ts files in the "recordings" directory

And they might be called .stream files if your using the newer ipcleaner.

ADDED: The sub files ipcleaner puts out should or might play with VLC or they might need more like you mentioned "0x10", but thats beyond me.

-sub=all is default I believe so can be skipped on the command line.

I'm pretty sure I had IPCleaner working with UDL's app too. I'll have to go back and play again.  I always just use that same script.  It's missing stuff for setting polarity and diseqc for dvbstream though as I have my Prof slaved off a receiver.

Ok, I forgot to mention also I'm still using this universal lnbf (long story) anyways I have to add 150mhz onto say 11942
so I do this from the terminal like this "./clean_ts_dump 12092 800" so maybe thats throwing me fits using UDL's app.
I'll have to try it with a linear 10750.
Where does Udl's app save the .stream files anyways? I never figured that out.

UDL's app has the numbers for  universal LO in the settings menu.  IPCleaner will always dump the .stream files into the working dir I believe.  Still dumping movies so I don't want to stop the script any try it with UDL's app just yet.

You can easily change the LO from 10750 to 10600 in the script.  If you are just using it with the universal lnbf and a default version of dvbstream you can take that whole frequency test out.  dvbstream does universal by default as do most Linux dvb apps. I put that in the script to simplify 10750 Ku and C-Band for myself.  Since then I've patched my copy of dvbstream and I don't have that test in the script I use.  The dvbstream in my bitbucket git is patched to use 5150/10750 by default.

Thanks Bluzee I learn something everytime. In your script I changed the 10750 to 10600, I don't know why I didn't do
that before. What I like about the script is being able to view a stream continuously if it plays clean. Thanks
I'm using 10600 in UDL's app it works great with the universal lnbf. I guess I was thinking maybe that your script was added into the stv090-scan.

No, I just use that script on it's own.  One thing with the script you do need to watch is that if your first stream files are a partial ie. you started capture part way into the transmission of the file it will usually show up as just data by the file command so when you hit ctrl+c it will get deleted along with the rest of the non-mpeg  stream files instead of renamed.  If it's something you want to keep make sure to rename it first before you hit ctrl+c.

Nice thing about processing live is you can see when the movie stream ends so you don't stop capture right in the middle of a good show.
