Basically they can keep sending ET phone home across the sky hoping it responds.

More changes approved by FCC.

AMC 4 will stop at 85W temporarily and then move to 135W.
AMC 6 will move from 85W to 83W.

Wasn't there issues with the c-band side of AMC-6?  For some reason I thought they shut it down a few years back when it was still at 72W.  On photoman's 2nd link, there are footprints for both V and H c-band.

if i remember right i think it was a power/solar panel issue. couldnt power c and ku at same time maybe.
perhaps it is fixed or they wont need more than it can supply,

Photoman did find some feeds that moved to amc 6 during the last solar outage period as backup. I think some transponders still work on c.

SES is now saying they've re-established contact with AMC-9, but not control. At least two large pieces of the satellite have broken off to become space junk within the geostationary belt.

Al Bundy must have cranked up the power too high and blew it up. [wink] Must have tried putting some of that Nitromethane in the generator.

What is the probability that AMC 9 was destroyed intentionally? And if indeed this was the case would our govt tell us?
No one can say why or how this happened if it happens again then will people begin to suspect foul play?

You don't know nowadays that could be a good possibility using as a test subject for something in the future.

I am NOT however suggesting the US did it. I have worked for a company that built parts for the booster for the SM-3. Our Govt has already been testing that one. I think the last test was actually a failure. I just think that if (e.g. China) did destroy AMC-9. And we knew it, as I'm sure we would.

Would our Gov't release this intelligence?

I doubt it.

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
