Can you give me some help with the audio pids for stations on AMC 8?

I have a azbox elite and can scan them in but I am yet to here any active pids on
Citadel - 3951 V 10417
Premiere - 4110 V 5000
Clear Channel - 4124 V 5787

I get the channels on Dial Global - 3971 V 10128 and I can't get Skyview because they are AAC but I should be able to get something on the others.

I have entered them manually also, and still no luck.

Any help you can give me I would appreciated.

Thanks.

Can anyone give me the PMT PID and the PCR PID for Citadel?  I get them to scan in the azbox elite but when I go to edit the pids it gives me a error.  I think it is because it scans in so many (889) it says to reboot.

Thanks.

I'll SOON update this message with some info for you:

AMC-8 (139W)

CITADEL -- 3951 V 10417

Tom Kent (Pop) -- APID:5481 MPEG, PMT PID:128, PCR PID:256, SVC PID:1350

CLEAR CHANNEL -- 4123 V 5787

(Jazz Soft) -- APID:4101 MPEG, PMT PID:128, PCR PID:256, SVC PID:16

DIAL GLOBAL -- 4168 V 10127

(Poli-Talk) -- APID:1101 MPEG, PMT PID:42, PCR PID:1201, SVC PID:501

SKYVIEW (SPORTS) -- 3757 V 2097

(NHL Ducks) -- APID:4100 AAC (NOT MPEG), PMT PID:128, PCR PID:256, SVC PID:16

(TEST Music) -- APID:4096 MPEG (NOT AAC), PMT PID:128, PCR PID:256, SVC PID:1

Note: So the TEST signal is MPEG audio, the actual stations are all AAC audio.

PREMIERE -- 4110 V 5000

(TEST Music) -- APID:4096 AAC, PMT PID:128, PCR PID:256, SVC PID:1

"I hope you studied! ... HehHehHehHehHehHeh!"  (MASH TV Radar: "Wait for it!")

The AZBOX receivers will NOT play the the AAC 'Audio Only' streams;

but WILL play the AAC audio delivered up in VIDEO streams.

The OPENBOX receivers WILL play the AAC 'Audio Only' streams.

The SKYBOX receivers are those located in private 'snob' boxes at Sports Events,

and can use their EARS for audio.  Gotcha!

And finally, the SNOBBOX receivers are ... VERY EXCLUSIVE!

I have attached a screen shot.  Do I have it all in right?  I have a 70 signal and these will scan in but I can't here anything.  I get the DG ones.

I was looking at the AUDIO TYPE = MPEG2

It should be MPEG ... or MPEG1 ... NOT sure if you have choice on that?

Here: VIDEO PID = 0 (ZERO), (NOT 65535, or sure that it matters)

VIDEO TYPE = MPEG2, (NOT sure that it matters)

The other possible issue might be to be sure

that the (Service) SVC PID is NOT used more than one time.

If two different signals are using the same SVC PID, then problems

can happen (sometimes).  I experienced this problem awhile back,

and WEJONES correctly figured out what I was doing wrong.

CITADEL -- 3951 V 10417

Tom Kent (Pop) -- APID:5481 MPEG, PMT PID:128, PCR PID:256, SVC PID:1350

VPID:0 MPEG2 (NOT sure this matters)

So, MPEG=MPEG1, which is NOT the same as MPEG2; but they are MPEG types.

THAT should be CONFUSING enough for EVERYONE!

arcbelt,

For audio type I have (unknown, MPEG-2, ADTS, PCM, AC3, DTS, and MPEG-4).
I have no setting for MPEG-1.

I don't think it matters on the video settings for the audio only channels because it automatically sets them at that on the azbox when I listen to a channel.

Maybe if you make AUDIO TYPE = UNKNOWN ... it might like SCAN to identify

that it is MPEG1 Audio?

You could try making AUDIO TYPE = UNKNOWN on the MPEG (Dial Global?) one

that you have it working.  See if the 'DG' one will then play with that setting

of AUDIO TYPE = UNKNOWN.

I did that and it keeps throwing me back on MPEG-2.  Maybe someone with a azbox that has tried that has some information.

Again,  Thanks for all your help.

I'll PM someone that owns an AZBOX, see if they might help you.

arcbelt,

It's got to be the MPEG-1 thing.

I tried all the listed channels you gave me and they did not play.

Thanks for all the effort.  I will have to see if one of the older fw will play them'

Thanks a bunch.

Well I was trying to do exactly what you are guys talking about on a thread under receivers.  Sooo...
Thanks AC for the tips.  I see what you mean about how DG's channels are audio selections. Your information is really helpful.

Now I'm going to sound like unclefrank when I say I'm getting a lot of nothing... except for D.G.

I have to admit, I hear at least ONE active channel among the many silent ones for each TP.  Again, except for DG.

Here's my question:
I'm listening to a Clear Channel-carried talk show on AM radio from a Chicago station that's live from 18:00 to 21:00 ET.

Problem is that the sun has set. They have to point their sig away from MI just about now.

Why can't I find that program (or almost anything else) on the 100+ channels I search out of the CC TP?

I found multiple Internet references that this show is on this sat.
