Well considering this ordeal started almost a full month ago and undergoing 6 surgeries and having to deal with all of the effects of the anesthesia and the feelings of sadness of like your not going to get better, he sounded really good.  He is keeping his faith and is really proud of his wife Rachel for sticking by his side through all of this.  He continues to be thankful for all of the prayers from everyone for him to get better.  I hope he will feel good enough to get on line soon.

A month with almost no food at all, will leave anyone almost unable to move on their own. I am so glad to hear he is at home, because I know he will get better now.

Still praying for the best.

Barry suffered a major heart attack this morning while with Rachel at home.  She called 911 and they took them to the hospital, but they were not able to bring him back.  He had one of his best days yesterday and got to get out for a ride around the mountains and made a trip to see his father.  He was eating and drinking and said he actually felt thirsty yesterday before getting a drink.

I have known Barry for quite a while now and he would always stand up for me.  He has taught me a lot.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was never shy to share his Love for God.  He was like a brother to me.

He has helped with this forum and shared his knowledge with many one on one and with the rest of us by posting in other forums before he found a home with us in this humble forum.

I am going to miss my friend and it brings me to tears as I type this.  We just never know what is in God's plans for us and we need to enjoy every day we have.  His memory will live on with us and his posts here in the fourm will be a constant reminder of who he was.  It is hard to accept that he has left us.  His soul is free to Soar with the Eagles and we hope his Heart will be full of Happiness, now that he has left his earthly body and has gone on to be with his maker.

Donations will be gratefully accepted to help with funeral expenses.

Please send to:

So sad in a lot of ways
God calls home special people
Barry was one for sure, He helped  Me out many times with
my Orthomode setup, sent me supplies, would not take any pay
Rachel, I will continue to lift You up in  the coming days and weeks
Just know. You will be reunited with him one day
       God Bless Barry

I'm so sorry to read this news. I've haven't been active in the hobby for a little while (busy with other stuff). But this is awful news to come back to.

I've known AC / Barry since before I knew about this site here at Rick’s. I knew AC and his iconic radio tower avatar from other sites throughout the satellite hobby. I got to know him best when we were both beta testers for CNX many moons ago, and then finally, here at Rick’s.

AC was one of those guys who was mild mannered, willing to help others, and very very intelligent. You could tell these things by reading his posts. Not only did he know his stuff, but I don’t recall ever seeing him engage in a negative battle of words (something that I wish I could say about myself, but can’t).

As many of you have seen, AC would always demonstrate a great deal of patience when trying to help someone. If you didn’t quite get it, he would just keep on helping you until you did.

I never knew ACRadio out in the real world. I just knew him from my dealings with him concerning the hobby. He loved the satellite hobby, and was one of the people who made the hobby better because he was in it. The hobby will definitely miss him.

I can’t even begin to imagine the personal loss that his family must be going through. But I did know him good enough to know that he had a profound belief in God (as do I).

I’m just some guy from the internet as far as Barry’s family is concerned. But I would like to extend to his family my deepest sorrow at his passing. Rest in peace Barry.

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
