ever since I got my ME receiver had a problem of the remote working the Elite too or vise a verse. but now that problem is resolved, with no problem of either remote inferring with each other.
this is what and how I did it. I took a Next Generation battery extender kit and put the battery in the ME remote control, then covered the eye on the remote with aluminum foil with a small piece of black tape then scotch tape over all to hold in place. now found the eye on the ME and put the remote on it, then cover that area also with aluminum foil, black tape, and finally scotch tape over all. been running it all after noon with out a glitch what so ever.
the Next Generation owner Bob is a friend of mine that I have known for years and he is also local here in Fla. his ties to the satellite world go way back in time to the Tee Comm days back when he was a CEO for them, or some of you older C-band guys may even know him or talked to him in the past, this is just a tid bit of info about Next Generation.

I remember years ago there was a "tracker Bob" that had a feed column in the Satellite weekly magazine. It was a great source of good information. Just wondering if this was the same Bob? Any way glad you found a fix to your problem. My problem is to many remotes , and trying to remember which one to use at the proper time. I have thought about naming them and taping the name to each remote! ha ha ha.

I have had the confusing remote problem for years and finally solved it by marking the receiver and the remote with the same color of tape. After you run out of colors I use stripes. Putting them down in a logical place every time they are picked up is also a means of quickly finding the right remote. The pinhole idea has been in use with me dating back before the Trackers series came out. The pinhole makes the remote very directional.

Your description is difficult for me to comprehend. A link to the Next Generation device of which you write would help.

I have a vague recollection of Next Generation possibly being a associated with a merger or rename of a BUD wholesale distribution company called New World near the middle of the peninsula, Davenport or Haines City, I think, very late '80's or early '90's. I was at the place once, and the company I was associated with bought most of their equipment there, beginning with mostly Prosat, near the end a big mover of Graham dishes I found poorly formed and totally inept for C/Ku use. When I was there the overall BUD business was already in collapse, with the Pizza dish business being recognized as viable long term, and New World was open house showing off new lines to take the place of the evaporating BUD business, security & misc. home electronics being a couple of them IIRC.

Bob had nothing to do with New World in Haines City, he was a CEO for Tee-Com till the Ca bank pull the plug on their loan to them when they started up Alpha Star. that all happen when Prime Star people played dirty pool with the Ca bank. I have bought a lot from both owners at New World, my 1st mpeg receiver came from them a Pansat-300a, with Lee being the last owner, and I ended up buying the last of all of his stock back in 2004 when he had to close his doors. now his closing had nothing to do with C-band fading away, he sold so much other electronics too, the cause of all was do to the 3 hurricane's that year that badly damaged that old building that they work out of, and he did not have storm damage insurance on his policy. as far as a link to Next Generation I need to check on that.

here's a update on working more than 1 Azbox in the same room or in my case right next to each other.
I now have 3 Azbox's (ME, Prem+, an Elite) working right next to each other with out any problems of one remote control working another Azbox other than what that remote control is supposed to work. last week I got another remote control extender from Bob, this one I got is a 418-mhz frequency, my other one is a 433-mhz frequency, and both work flawless with any conflict at all. I will try to post some picture's of when I pull the Prem+ apart and install a remote eye inside it, right now I just have the remote eye tape to the face of the + with some alum foil over it to block the ME's IR signal's. what I have done here with working 3 Azboxs in the same room can be done with any other STB or the same electronic component with the same IR codes that's in the same room to where the remote controls will only work the device that they are intended for.
