Rick,

I put this out in the forum as it seems your pm box is full plus maybe someone else has had a similar issue and could offer some insight:

Rick,

I had a run of bad luck last week and a lightning strike affected my Azbox Ultra. I actually had three pieces of equipment affected. All 3, my tv, Azbox and Alien had the hdmi ports fail. All three function completely normal otherwise. The Azbox still has component outputs as does my tv however no hdmi. Would you be able to install a new board? I have a new board coming for both my Alien and plasma tv and that will hopefully fix those. I can live with the Azbox if I have no choice as all functions work fine but hdmi would be preferred.

Thanks,

Dave

if both fta boxes are having hdmi issues... I would bet its a problem with your  tv. its very unlikely hdmi would fail on 2 fta units at once...do you have another HD tv you could hook up to test with?

I tried all the stb's that were affected on three different hd tvs. Same results. The hd tv that was in use at the time did indeed loose it's hdmi board. I then went and purchased a new hd tv and tried the stb's with the exact same results. I know it sounds weird but that's the facts as I seem them. The Azbox still plays through the component outputs and the original tv plays video through the component inputs but no hdmi on either.

Dave,

It's fine to post this here and also fine to give me a call if and when ever needed.  I don't use the PM option any more (as mentioned in my signature), as between answering the phones and running the business, filling orders and trying to answer a bunch of e-mails daily, I was just not able to keep up with the PM's.

Of all of the Ultra's I have sold, I have only had one that I had to replace, because the HDMI failed.  I could tell that the HDMI outlet had been used a lot, as it was really scratched up, which only showed that it had been plugged and unplugged a lot, but it should of still worked.  So I replaced the unit for the customer.

When the HDMI acted up on other units, many times we could go into the menu settings and go to Display settings and switch to another setting, like SCART or Component and then back to HDMI and then it was working again.

Does not sound like that it going to fix your problem, but wanted to take the time to respond finally...  Also trying to get some updates done on the Satellite Chart.

Thanks,

Rick

Fellow Members, your posts are welcome here! Do not worry about posting everything perfect. Different receivers and LNB's will give you different Frequencies and Symbol Rates. Some set top boxes, PCI cards and USB receivers, Do Not Require all of the same information that others may need. It is not Required to post everything that others may need to tune in a feed. It is just most important to share the find. We can always adjust the Frequency and Symbol Rates and try the various Modulations and FEC's on our own receivers until we get a lock and then give a polite reply with what works for your receiver, as that information might help others as well. We all appreciate the efforts and energy of the Posters!
