Ok I haven't deleted any channels from my blind scans and I started getting a storage full message during blind scans and then it stops scanning. What is the best way to delete channels without messing anything up?

How many channels do you have stored between TV and Radio?

The easiest way would be to go to a Satellite and see what channels are from backhauls and temporary feeds that are no longer used.     I would delete them using the remote in the channel section.

Thousands of channels. I guess my question is can I just go and delete in the channels section and delete all channels? I don't really use the channels, I always blind scan to see if there is anything new on a satellite. So if I do a complete wipe is there any harm?

I figured it was thousands of channels but how many exactly?

Yes you can bring up an individual satellite in the channel menu and delete all the channels on it.     You can also delete all channels on every satellite in the whole receiver from the menu.  If you do a factory reset it will erase all the channels but you will lose all settings.

There will be no harm done by doing any of the above.

2892 satellite channels and around 1800 radio channels, I already deleted all radio channels so not sure of exact number.

What I wanted to do was a block channel delete in all channels and not a factory reset, I don't want to lose the satellites that I've added.

I was thinking somebody said you had to have one channel programmed in per satellite or something like that.

As far as I know the 1 transponder per Sat only applies to the AZ box.  I have deleted transponders per Sat a few times to do a fresh scan with no problems.  I have a Linkbox 9000i local.   Jess out in California

Advertising specs say it will hold 10,000 channels.

My 9000i had some kind of glitch early on. There was no message concerning storage... it just quit adding any new transponders or channels. (Less than 500 channels at the time) It would find new transponders with a blind scan, but nothing would be 'remembered'. A factory reset and an update sorted it out. No problems since.

We had some electric interruptions and thunderstorms at the time which I suspect caused the problem here.

Just something to keep in mind in case deleting transponders/channels doesn't help.

Good luck!

Clearing the radio channels solved the problem for now.

It takes some time, but this works pretty good. I use Linksat to see what transponders are good, write them down, then delete the bad ones. Glad to hear you cleaned up that log jam and can scan again.
