Anybody know anything about this dish? It is a 6 foot perforated Channel Master built like a tank. Can't find the F/D or any other specs on it. Any clue. Better pictures tomorrow, thunderstorm chased me in tonight. Have to find a way to shrink the picture so I can upload it. Be back in a few. 6 Footer.jpg

Plan on using it for Ku with a prime feed. Tired of the small HH motors on my 1.2 Fortec.

The F/D is .40, all of the SMC an Perf 6, 8, an 10-ft have a .40 F/D. as far as a Ku only dish it should be good at that, but not as stellar as the SMC line of Channel Master, all do to the hole size in the alum panels  if I remember right their about 1/4" hole size, but it should play fine. and yes those Perf's are built very well and stout, also they have some weight to em also.

Thank you Captain. Actually the holes in this one measure 2.5 mm. And with the.40 F/D the feed worked great for Ku on my 12 foot unimesh when I tried it out.

So if the f/d is .40 on 6, 8 and 10 it would be okay to take a 6ft dish and expanded to a 8ft dish using aluminum and the focus depth would remain the same?

New twist to my situation. The guy just called and said he found a brand new in the box 8 foot fiberglass CM I can have. I am taking it of course. Now should I stick with the 6 foot perforated dish, or use the 8 foot CM glass dish for my Ku needs. Keep in mind I already have a 12 foot unimesh for CBand and a ortho feed. The next dish is Ku only.

The 8 footer it is then. One question though, what does SMC stand for?

I am guessing solid metal construction as in a sheet of metal under the fiberglass instead of mesh.
